This term, students in Years 11 and 13 had the fantastic opportunity to learn about careers and apprenticeship pathways in the NHS during an engaging presentation delivered by NHS representatives. The session aimed to inspire students to explore the diverse range of roles available within one of the UK’s largest employers, which goes far beyond doctors and nurses to include over 350 different career options.
The presentation highlighted apprenticeship opportunities that offer a valuable alternative to university for those who prefer to gain hands-on experience while earning a qualification. Students were introduced to pathways in areas such as healthcare, administration, IT and engineering, illustrating the commitment made by the NHS to nurture talent across a wide range of disciplines.
The representatives also shared personal stories and advice, emphasising the importance of qualities like compassion, teamwork, and resilience. Students were encouraged to think about how their skills and passions could align with the values and needs of the NHS.
We are incredibly grateful to the NHS team for visiting our school and inspiring the next generation to consider rewarding and meaningful careers in healthcare and related fields. For students and parents who wish to learn more, additional information about NHS apprenticeships and career pathways can be found on the NHS Careers website.
We look forward to seeing some of our students take their first steps into this vital sector!
