Plymouth Youth Awards Winner!

On Wednesday 19th June a number of Sir John Hunt students awaited their fate as they had been nominated and selected to be in the finals of the YMCA Plymouth Youth Awards. Maja in Year 11 was nominated for the Sports Person of the Year award.


Maja's journey not only showcases her physical prowess but also the profound impact boxing has had on her as she moved through adolescence. Despite the rigorous demands of training, Maja's dedication extends beyond the boxing ring. Throughout her GCSE year, she has balanced her school work with her hobby. By prioritising her studies alongside her training, Maja has demonstrated resilience and determination. Her commitment serves as a testament to her exceptional work ethic and determination to succeed.

Maja won the city wide competition against some incredible candidates, in front of staff and her family; we are all incredibly proud of her.
