Year 10 & 12 Work Experience

A work experience placement is an invaluable opportunity for students to step into the professional world, explore future career options, and develop essential skills for life beyond education. Here’s why it’s important and how it benefits students:

• Offers insight into paths they might not have considered before.

Build Skills for the Future

• Develops key employability skills, such as teamwork, communication, time management, and                   problem-solving.
• Enhances confidence and independence by handling real-world tasks.

Create Networking Opportunities

• Connects students with professionals who can offer advice, mentorship, or future opportunities.
• Builds a network that may help with references or future job applications.

Enhance University and Job Applications

• Shows initiative, commitment, and experience on personal statements, CVs, or job applications.
• Gives practical examples of skills and achievements that can be discussed during interviews.

Gain a Competitive Edge

• Provides experience in a professional setting, setting students apart from peers without such                 exposure.
• Offers a glimpse into the realities of working life, helping them transition from school to career               more  seamlessly.

By taking work experience seriously, students can unlock a clearer sense of direction for their future while gaining vital skills that will set them up for long-term success. It’s an exciting step toward their career journey!
